Ground zero - scared straight Mentoring Movement

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO
GROUND ZERO - SCARED STRAIGHT MENTORING MOVEMENT

This Program
is modeled after the successful concept of the San Quentin "SQUIRES" and the Scared
Straight programs used in some states for troubled youth.

The SQUIRES (San Quentin Utilization of Inmate Resources Experiences and Studies),
established in 1964, is a juvenile delinquency deterrence program exposes delinquent
youth to the harsh realities of prison life

The central premise of programs such as these rests on the notion that organizing prison
visits for juvenile delinquents or at-risk youth will in turn deter those youth from future
delinquency.

Realistic and often aggressive depictions of prison life will cause youth to refrain from
delinquency due to fear of the consequence of incarceration, or other undesirable
consequences.

The children that go through this program are literally supposed to be scared back to the
straight and narrow path, from their pattern of destructive behavior to being a productive
member of society.

Lets make a difference starting with the man in the mirror
